Not really necessary.
Definitely a personal choice, i think it is handy to have but if you are shorter it may impact on the height of the dryer making it hard to reach in. I ended up not really using it. I think the stacker without the drawer would be much better.

Waste of money - fits NOTHING
I emailed and phoned to make sure the ultraphase cartridges actually fit in in the drawer before ordering and I was assured that they did - BUT THEY DON'T!! Total waste of money. Not impressed

A good fit for the washing machine and dryer combo
Very happy with the stacker. The drawer works well. The screws could be a bit better but it handles the weight of the dryer well.

Verry Happy with Washer & Dryer
I purchased a Miele washer and heat pump dryer and stacking kit. All these products are well worth the investment. The washer and dryer are super quiet work superbly. The stacker kit has ensured the washer and dryer has used only a small foot print in the laundry.
