Beware of breakage
My baking stone is around 7 years old, and although I was reasonably happy with it, in terms of producing a crisp pizza crust, I found to my dismay that it broke in two pieces in a moderate oven recently. I am very disappointed in this pricey product. There is no warning on the information stating that it might break - and I thought that a baking stone would last forever! As it could be potentially dangerous if you are carrying a hot stone and it breaks- perhaps take care to keep it on an oven rack.

We Love it!!
We heard of this product at our local Miele store and through Miele advertising saw it was on special offer so we bought one. We thought it unlikely that it would improve our pizzas in terms of cooking - how wrong we were!! We fastidiously followed the instructions of heating the stone up and tried our first pizza. In anticipation we removed it from the oven and cut it up, no soggy bottom like our previous stone but lovely and crisp. When we picked the slice of pizza up covered in toppings it didn't sag a bit! This stone is sensational, we haven't looked back since. We make our own dough for the base and have learned a tip from our local Miele chef to add semolina to the base of the paddle to enable a smooth slide off and on to the stone of our pizza. We thoroughly recommend this product. Every product we have bought thus far has been exemplary, thank you Miele!!

I purchased this item over 10 years ago for my husband. It was around $420 at the time. We had just purchased many other Miele products at the time. This stone gets used every Friday night without fail for Pizza night. Sometimes I pizza other times 6-8 depending who is at home. It is expensive however I feel we have really had good value after this many years.
