The Water Control System (WCS) monitors the water intake with a water level sensor. Water intake is stopped automatically if the normal water level is not reached. If there is water leakage inside the machine, the inlet valve inside the machine closes and water in the suds container is pumped away. A float switch in the drip tray also detects leaking water.

Smart app not worth the extra money.
The smart app is not as useful as it could be. It does not seem to be worth the extra money for the capability to look at the status of the machine. I would have thought you could store favourite settings in a profile. There is no ability to silence the very loud finish alarm and just notify you through app. The door is not reversible. Otherwise, very well made.

Unreliable.
Purchased 4 months ago, touch screen control has "frozen" and I am unable to use. The type of problem you would think only happens with the cheapest brands within first 2-3 years of product life. It is under warranty, however another issue is that I have to wait 10 days for Miele technician to even visit and check.

Leaking rubber seal repaired promptly
I had to have a technician come out and change the rubber seal around the door a week after I got the machine. It was leaking dripping water every time I opened the door. The technician was prompt and efficient and the machine no longer leaks. The machine seems to wash well and is lovely and quiet.

Clean and quiet
The washing machine is amazingly quiet. It has a lot of functions that caters to washing different materials, colours and loads. Clothes appear cleaner and brighter than my previous washing machines.

Much slower than our old Miele. In order to get the wash to last less than 2 hours, we have to run it on a shorter cycle and that doesn't get the clothes clean.
